In animal welfare, we’re often exposed to unrelenting stress, with no prospect of it easing in sight. We’re repeatedly exposed to the pain and sufferings of the animals who we deeply and passionately feel for.

The rise in the stray / community dogs-human conflicts, the negative media attention, lack of empathy in people, active and passive participation in animal cruelty by the community, mindless breeding and the illegal breeding of the dogs, dog-fight rings, wealthy-educated or uneducated- pet owners who buy and discard their pet like a commodity, lack of awareness in public, lack of adoptive homes, lack of foster homes, lack of trained medical and shelter staff, lack of government support, lack of funds, inflation, distancing from our own family, the list can be never ending…

I remember when I was walking through the kennels last time, all full with the beautiful healthy dogs, I was just thinking, I don’t know how much longer we can keep doing this.

But just then we receive a picture of a dog in need, no help or hope in sight, no other way to go and so there we have our answer - “We will keep going till we have the last fiber of our being left in us to give.” - Written by an animal welfare enthusiast & rescuer.
